My First Year Celebrating the Passover

In this article I'll talk about my first time celebrating the Passover holiday.

What is the Passover

What is the Passover

If you have ever read the Bible, the Israelites were told to celebrate the Passover. It was first celebrated in Egypt by the Israelites. The first time they celebrated the Passover was when God ordered them to put the blood of a lamb on their door frames. This was so God would know to pass over their homes, and not unleash the plague upon them.

God wanted to free the Israelites from the Egyptians because they were slaves in Egypt. The pharaoh did not want to let the Israelites go. This is the story of Moses, and the ten plagues that God unleashed.

The second Passover is in honor of Jesus. He was the second Passover "lamb" who shed his blood for us and our sins. These are the reasons why I have started to celebrate the Passover.

Today, the Passover is generally celebrated only by Jewish people. However, I do believe that Christians, and maybe even Catholics, should celebrate this holiday, instead of Christmas, Easter, and Halloween.

How I Celebrate

How I Celebrate

This had been my first year to celebrate the Passover. I bought a special red wine, which signifies the blood of Christ and of the lamb. I bought lamb chops, because on the first Passover, the Israelites were ordered to eat the lamb the had slain for its blood. And I made cornbread for the unleavened bread.

Yes, I did make cornbread in order to make my stuffing. I looove stuffing. And since I no longer celebrate Christmas, it was important for me to incorporate cornbread. I didn't add any baking soda or baking powder because those are leavening agents. But yes, I did make stuffing for the Passover.

Done Celebrating Other Holidays

Done Celebrating Other Holidays

That brings me to a decision I made last year. That decision was that I would no longer celebrate Christmas, Easter, or Halloween. I think I have said before, but these are pagan holidays.

These holidays were forced upon us mostly by the Catholic church. The Catholic church has tried to make things that are un-holy, holy, and we should not go along with that.

Back in the day, in the United States, Christians were forbidden to celebrate Christmas. Christmas was celebrated to honor a "sun god" in Egypt. Easter is for a fertility goddess, that is the reason for the eggs that you still see today. They would have orgies. Then by the time Christmas would roll around, they would have the babies conceived on Easter, and they would then sacrifice and kill the baby. Not very Christian, is it?

Truth be told, we don't know when Jesus was born. It was not told to us because it's really not important. And the Passover is there to celebrate what Jesus did for us on the Cross. What would be the need for us to celebrate Easter then? It is NOT related to Jesus.

And Halloween... Oh boy. Halloween is a very demonic holiday. Rituals are done on Halloween, spells are casts. There is nothing holy about Halloween. Do not let the Catholic church deceive you. It is very bad for us to celebrate pagan holidays in order to worship God.

Final Thoughts

Final Thoughts

As Christians, we need to be separate from the world, and not do as the world does. I know that it can be very hard at times because certain things are so ingrained in our minds, our, past, and in our culture. However, I was so joyous on the Passover. More joyous than I had ever felt on Christmas.

The reason was because I felt really close to God and Jesus. I read a few scriptures before eating, and I prayed a little. It was a happy occasion for me. I only celebrated one day, instead of the seven that the Jewish people celebrate. I believe that since we have Jesus, then there's no need to celebrate the other days. But I'm not sure.

I think you should go to the YouTuber named Truth Unedited. He has a video about how Christians should celebrate the Passover. He also has a bunch of other videos interpreting the Bible, and other things.

I hope that you will also decide to celebrate the Passover. If you have any questions, just leave a comment below. Well, until next time!
